Privacy Policy

This is a personal website maintained by Sahil Patil, based in Mumbai, India. It shares writing, research and academic perspective on intellectual property law. It does not sell services and does not run advertising.

The contact form asks for three things: your name, your email address, and the message you choose to write. Nothing else is requested and no hidden fields are added.

Please do not send confidential or privileged material through the form. A message sent here does not create an advocate–client relationship.

Your details are used for one purpose only: to read your message and reply to it. They are not used for marketing, newsletters, profiling, or automated decision making, and you will not be added to any mailing list.

Submissions are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored in a private, access-restricted database used by this website. Only I can read them, through an administrator login protected by Google sign-in and two-factor authentication.

A copy of your message may also appear in my personal email inbox when I respond to you.

Your name, email and message are not sold, rented, published or shared with third parties. The only parties involved are the hosting and database providers that operate this website’s infrastructure on my behalf, and they process the data solely to keep the site running.

Messages are retained only for as long as they are useful for correspondence and record keeping, and are deleted once that purpose ends. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Limited browser storage is used to remember your light or dark theme preference and, for me only, to keep an administrator session signed in.

You may ask me to confirm what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to sahildpatil2434@gmail.com and I will act on the request within a reasonable time.

If you would rather not use the form at all, you are welcome to email me directly instead. You can also reach the form from the contact page.

If the way this website handles information changes, this page will be updated to reflect it. Please check back occasionally.
